📢 Important Immigration Program Update

Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots – Intake Paused
Full Announcement here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/pausing-home-care-worker-immigration-pilots-application-intake.html
Effective December 19, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced a temporary pause on new application intake for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots.
This pause is part of Canada’s 2026–2028 Immigration Levels Plan, aimed at ensuring the immigration system remains sustainable while prioritizing the processing of applications already received.
🔍 What does this mean?
-
The intake will NOT reopen in March 2026, as previously anticipated
-
No new applications will be accepted until further notice
-
All applications already submitted will continue to be processed by IRCC
-
The pause is due to very high demand, which exceeded available program spaces
đź’¬ A reassuring message for caregivers & families
We understand that this update may feel disappointing or uncertain—especially for caregivers and families who have been preparing and waiting patiently.
Please be reassured that:
-
This is a pause, not a cancellation of the program
-
IRCC is continuing to process existing applications
-
Future updates will be publicly announced by IRCC
-
This step is intended to reduce long wait times and ensure fairness for those already in the system
Our team is closely monitoring developments and will share updates as soon as new pathways, alternatives, or reopening timelines are announced.

These updated prevailing wages took effect on November 19, 2025.
In accordance with federal regulations, we are required to offer the median wage to all Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs).
Regardless of the wage indicated on the LMIA application, employers are required to reassess and apply the prevailing wage at the beginning of a TFW’s period of employment.
The prevailing wage must be reviewed annually using updated wages posted on Job Bank (if applicable).
Because Job Bank wages are updated yearly in the fall, employers have until January 1 of the following year to do their review.
As outlined in your contract, these updated wage rates must be followed.
